Has anyone seen that new Farmer's inssurance commercial. Very disturbing!!! Somebody please tell me that's not real! Why on earth would they throw a perfectly good conv. first gen. off a cliff to prove a point. I can't believe they did that! Tell me it was just some Hollywood magic....please tell me it ain't so. graemlins/sad.gif

i saw that the other night. i really hope they didn't actually throw that car off a cliff. i'm guessing no with all the digital tools they have now, but it sure did look real. i really really hope they didn't do it

I saw the commercial. My guess is that it was a "Movie Car"... no motor, rust bucket with a $200 paint job.

They have Two commercials for that Camaro Convertible. One with the car going over the cliff and another where the car comes back out of the water and is in perfect shape, saying its good to have Farmers Insurance.
I dont think they ever damaged a convertible in todays market place, but who knows ?
I do like to see first generation camaro's in the media.

I don't think those guys really care. If they believe that they are gonna make more money from destroying that car while advertising their services than the car is actually worth, then what happens to it while filming means nothing to them graemlins/sad.gif

I saw the commercial too. graemlins/sad.gif
I can only hope it was computer magic! However, it looks like a real car went over. Maybe it was a glossed over junker...as toycarlvr said, but still..a first gen convertible...ouch!

Probably just a glossed over junker..just like the ones they destroyed in the Fast and the Furious movies.

It's a real car... The best digital effects still cannot duplicate water like the real thing. What a shame...every one with insurance with them that owns a first gen should move their policies elsewhere. You wouldn't see Grundy do that.
