I took the Z10 out for a drive this weekend. After a frustrating winter of work, vehicle troubles, bad weather, etc, it was nice to punch into the big block and let her roll!

I was so close to selling my cars and getting out of the hobby after struggling through some tough past months. That soon changed when the wife and I rolled into the Sunoco station for some 94. A few people pumping gas started commenting on the car, what a great hobby, we're so lucky kinda comments. We went to our next stop (some quick shopping) and some more comments were shot our way. What a great feeling!
Sometimes with all the bad luck, unfortunate mishaps, and gloomy weather, all seems to change instantly when the weather changes and the smell of high octane hits the air. You guys in CA probably don't have the winter blues as bad as some others, so it may be hard to understand the change in weather deal.
Well anyway, hope everybody is coming out of hibernation. Here is some advice I will post in my garage... "Joe, don't sell your cars", "don't sell your cars", "don't sell your cars"! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

"it rains here too" LMAO :D

We had a beak in the weather here in Michigan yesterday too, it was up to 45 for a couple hours . . . I got the 68 out and took my boys for a quick ride.

Today its snowing again with 40 mph wind gusts

I need to move to California . . . "rains here too" hehehe I remember being stationed in San Diego in the late 80's -- it was awesome, if you wanted snow just drive into the mountains and up to Julian. If it was too hot inland just drive to the coast and hang at the beach . . .

It did get pretty cold when I was in CA a couple times -- I distinctly remember having to get my light jacket out at night once . . . LOL

At least I'm not in Alaska. Those poor folks don't even get sunlight until late March.

Saturday was supposed to be a cruise in at UMR for the St. Pat's day parade and festivities......
Well, a buddy and I drove around for 2 hours looking for it and never found it. Anyway, we sure had a good time "riding around" looking for it. Oh, and soooooooooo many compliments! My buddy has a red '72 Cutlas tricked to the max and I was in my '69......the looks we got as we 'lined up' at each stop and go light!!!!! :D

Man - at these gas prices, I hated turning on the A/C today in traffic... but, when it's over 80
Local Shell is @ $2.47 (84) and 2.97 (92) - can't wait to see what it'll be at the marina for 94 in a couple months.

This past week I finally installed the 350 that I rebuilt last year along with a 700R4. Drove it Saturday, today we got snow and it's still snowing, with 3"s expected by morning. graemlins/clonk.gif At least they're calling for mid 50's by this Saturday.

We do have the sunshine...but:

Gas here is getting outrageous, nearing 3.00 a gallon, and the max is 91 octane!

The median price for a home is getting uncomfortably close to 500K.

The jobless rate is higher than it has ever been. In fact, no one knows what the REAL number is.

Crime is once again on the rise, and the state is too broke to really do anything about it.

The freeways are a joke, lots of closures and repairs, but when they reopen, they're the same as they were before...wall to wall cars going nowhere. You don't even know from rush hour til you've spent a week in L.A.

But we do have the sunshine.....

Hi guys, gas is about 1.97 for supreme with a club card, the weather has been great for cruising, 60 and sun, warm enough to take the T-tops off and just drive. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

But we do have the sunshine..... Baltimore/DC area is not far behind in the traffic department. We have all the East coast traffic from Florida to Maine going through our beltways 24/7/365. The DC beltway is attached to Interstate 95 (great design) which is the main route up and down the coast. For some reason the rest of the US seems to think it is a big deal to see Washington DC. The locals do everything possible to avoid going near DC.

We had our great Saturday cruise I mention when starting this post. Today it was snowing/sleeting when I was playing catch with my son for baseball tryouts!
Enjoy the good days while we have them.

The snow we got Monday and Tuesday is about melted away, but the roads are still covered with sand and salt. With any luck I should be able to get the car out in a couple more weeks. graemlins/hurray.gif

I may wait for them to fix all the potholes that crop up during the beautiful graemlins/clonk.gif Nebraska winters.
