I believe the axle will fit, just alittle wider, 3/4 inch?

Springs will have a little twist to them because of the extra distance between spring perches.

At least, that's what happen to me when I put a '75 rear axle into my first '67 Camaro.

Dibs on your removed axle?

It should be a direct bolt-in with the exception of the pinion length. The 8.5's are about an inch longer in pinion length than the 8.2's that came on first gen Camaros. You may need to shorten your driveshaft accordingly. The 8.5 takes a different series u-joint also. You can get a conversion u-joint to "mate" your driveshaft yoke to the yoke on the rearend from any decent parts store. Do a search on "8.2 to 8.5 swap" in this forum. Lots of info to be found. Good luck!

One more thing. Throw away those t-bolts and use u-bolts instead.

If memory serves me correct, it will fit with no problem. I have a 69 camaro and I swapped the 8.2" rear for a 73 Nova 8.5" rear. The only thing I had to do was have my driveshaft shortened by an inch. The housing on the Nova studk closer to the transmission by about an inch. Good Luck.

everett,
you want the 8.2 rear correct?
I'll also have some 12 bolt 3.55 stuff if I get this swap done.

The '67 Camaro has mono leaf springs and the '73 Nova has multi leaf springs. You will need to get the springs from the Nova and use them in the Camaro or make spacers to take up the space for the thinner springs.

Hey one another thing, i am not sure if this is a problem but the 67's do not have the staggered rear shocks like the 68-69 Fbody and 68-74 X body do... You might have to cut and reweld the old shock brackets off of the 1967
