Checked thru the archieves and no luck finding an answer. What is the secret to getting the pulley off the alternator? Mine has a 15/16" nut on a shaft with a hex hole in it. I've tried putting an Allen wrench in the hex to hold the shaft while turning the nut, but nothing budges. Is there a trade secret? Thanks.

It just comes off... What I did was to clamp the allen wrench in a vice, and set the alternator on it.Gave me a lot more leverage.

Thanks Jim, I'll try that. Just to be safe, is it the normal counter-clockwise to loosen?

Ok Jim, tried that and with a lot of elbow grease we got it off. That vice trick was the ticket. Thanks.
