I have 2 electric fans on my car and I've been running them for about a year with out a relay and only a toggo switch. Lately after some hard use the fans stop working and I traced it down to the fuse I have in the power wire. I want to use a relay to wire them up, do I need to use two relays, and when I go to the part store what should I ask for so they don't say "what kind of car is it for", are they normally sued for a/c or something. Also I'm not sure on how to wire these things up, can someone tell me were I might find a diagram on how to wire these up or can you just tell me. Thanks for any help.

Mark, if you have (2) fans , then use (2) relays, while your at it , get the temp senders too so they can kick on automatically.

Couple options here. Best would be to go to Advance Auto or other parts store and get a thermostat switch. About 18 bucks. I'm running two and they have a contact rating that will handle about any fan motor. Adjustable to room temp to ?. They have a probe that I just zip tied to the side tank on the rad.
Other way to go just get a fog light relay. These are rated about 30 amps, plenty big. You can run them off any toggle switch as the coil uses almost no current. Wiring diagram on carton or even on switch sometimes. About five to seven bucks. All parts places have these hanging on the rack.

Mark, it's the July 99' issue. They use two Bosch relays which they say are standard Bosch ISO models good for a variety of applications. They gotn theirs from M.A.D. Industries ( 209-539-7128 ).

Bondo, I'm running spal fans, I'm running a 16" puller on the rear, and a 14" on the front. I bought mine from a local street rod shop, they are about $150 each. Get a Street Rodder magazine and you'll find tons of advertisement for them. They came with mounting brackes wich bolted right to the top and bottom of my aluminum radiator.
