: Console Gauge Package Ground....

Hi All:
I bought a repo console gauge cluster set-up (already assembled from the retailer) and have a question about the ground wire. When I take the top gauge cover off, I can see that the back two gauges, TEMP & BATT, have a ground wire that mounts to the metal gauge mounting base. However, the front two gauges, FUEL & OIL, do not have such a wire...
Is there a ground wire missing on my gauge package or are the front two gauges just grounded elsewhere (through the wiring harness for instance)?? And to confuse me even more, I have a set of gauge installation instructions (from an old Camaro Enthusiast Magazine) that shows the repo console gauges as have a ground wire for the front two gauges and a ground wire for the rear two gauges. This is an older article so it's possible they changed the wiring of the gauges...

Does anyone know if I am missing a ground wire here?? Or, has anyone purchased a set of repo gauges recently that might be able to comment on this??? I want to get this straightened out before I install them.
Thanks

Not familiar with that set-up. However, earlier GM fuel gages didn't have a separate ground wire. Look at the gage connector. If it has only 2 wires (power and sender) going to it, there is no separate ground wire. The body or the gage frame gets grounded. Maybe that's a help.

Hi Dan,
When I had to remove and replace my gauge cluster and console due to the oil leak, I got VERY familiar with the console gauge set up. There is just the one ground screw, as you mentioned. Be very careful when you hook up the oil line, as you may have the same problem I had.

Thanks Steve!!
Good to know my set-up is ok. Any tips on hooking up the oil line to prevent problems/leaks??
