well guys, i went out today to go to my grandmothers house, and my blazer wont start. no power, not even headlights. i tightned the connections at the battery, the ground from the negative cable, and tightened the positive cable at the solenoid. when i did that, the power came on, headlights worked, dash, everything was fine and when i tried to crank it, everything went out and the solenoid just clicked. the battery has a good 12.7 volts. i am going to replace the solenoid tomorrow, i was just wondering what you guys thought.

Before you start changing parts you should really do a capacity load test on the battery. A battery can have a 100% state of charge(12.6V) and not be able to handle a load.

Check the fusible link by the starter. The usually burn right there!

hey guys, thanks for the info. i checked the battery out at the parts store and checked all the connection points in the system. it was the soleinoid after all. it was burned out inside like it had a short or something. still trying to figure out what let it go like that.
