Tj450,
I just got through putting new dash and engine harnesses in my 68. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I too considered just trying to patch it up, but I went for the new harnesses. I feel much more at ease. The dash harness was around $355 and the engine harness around $80 from Rick's. They are "Factory fit" brand. The did fit perfectly. If you do want to rewire, I have the old harnesses and all of the connectors are good except the fuse panel and wiper swich connectors.

TJ,
You can buy a wiring diagram from every repro parts house.
The diagram, along with the Assembly Manual and Fisher Body Manual, are the best pieces of literature you can own for your car. It's money very well spent.

My opinion would be if your wanting to replace all the wiring get a complete wiring harness(tape wrapped and anchors in the right places). If you only need to replace a few wires NAPA sells the connectors and proper color coded wire. Again just my opinion. Good luck.

The reason I want to do this my self is alot because I can. The fact is I don't mine buying one but why not build it myself. I have all wiring diagram Books. I was just wondering if the drawings were on the web. On my 71 chevelle I was having a hard time with the SS dash gauges wiring and had found all the correct wiring on the web after much research. So the web kicks butt for lots of reasons and that is deffintly one.

TJ,
The factory fit harness worked great for my 67. There was a guy that had the harness diagram for the hidaway headlights which helped alot.
Good luck
