I unstalled a new tank and sending unit. I hooked all the wires up but now my needle reads "full" all the time. but my fuel light stays on. Any suggestions? Thanks

I think your Camaro's sending unit should be 0-90 ohm. deejaygee Apr 9th, 03, 07:45 PM Check the ground connection for the sending unit: http://www.67z28.com/images/UPC8B2.gif 69X11SS Apr 10th, 03, 03:46 AM It does sound like a ground problem. Make sure you scrap the paint (or rust) when you ground the sending unit. I had a similar problem and thought that the screw threads in contact with the mounting hole would be sufficient ground. Boy, was I wrong. I scraped the paint and what do you know it worked. I hope that the ground is your problem because that is an easy fix. deejaygee Apr 10th, 03, 07:31 AM The needle maxing out is the indication that it's a ground problem. If, for example, the fuel gauge is console-mounted and the other gauges are also maxing out, you'd know the bad ground is the shared one at the cluster. Seeing as how only the fuel gauge is affected, it's got to be the sender ground back at the tank. |
