Couple of questions for you guys.
Where's the best place to run the negative battery wire on a SB 327? Now it's going to one of the bolts on my water pump.
Also, could a lack of electric power due to a bad ground or other problem affect the power of spark at the plugs?
The other night I started my car and let it warm up a little, then I turned on my headlights and the rpm's dropped 100. Any ideas what this is about?
Thanks in advance.

The water pump bolt is fine, but, be sure to seal the threads so coolant won't seep through the threads. Orig was on the alternator bracket that bridged between the w/p - thermostat housing. A really good place would be the outside (front) intake bolt, blind hole, keep it clean.
Yes, a bad ground can make for a weak spark. No electricity = no spark.
Turning on headlights, a heavy load, will slow the engine, sounds normal. Keep the belt tight.
A couple suggestions, run an extra wire between the engine and the body and subframe. You can use a 10-12 gauge wire, paint-free points of contact. Two places needing attention, the junction block on the radiator support right beside the battery, clean it and the terminal lugs, also, the horn relay on driver side of rad support, has a buss bar and two lugs, clean all three parts, the bar, and two lugs.
Look at the alternator BAT post, the red wire, make sure there is no broken strands, re-terminate if necessary.

I would not use the water pump bolt.As stated there should be sealer on bolt threads and the pump is separated from block by a gasket so how is the current suppose to flow through that? Poor connection. Go to the alt bracket.
