If you decide to replace the harness, M&H is the one to get. www.wiringharness.com (http://www.wiringharness.com) is the website.

If you have no fear, you're not going as fast as you could.

Jim,
If you own a multimeter and/or a simple circuit tester, know how to strip and crimp connectors onto a wire, I'd say go for it!
I've heard good things about M&H.
The hardest part will be gutting the interior to get at all the wiring.

Good luck.... I think it'll be worth it. I'm glad I did.

I replaced my engine/forward wiring harness with a new one from Ground Up. It came from M&H and was a perfect fit. Very easy to do, first -disconnect the battery. Then just start at the firewall connector and remove the old and begin installing the new one as you go. I also labeled the old harness before just to be sure. Much easier than tracing down intermittent shorts on an old spliced up harness. Mine had quite a few bad splices in it and I just wanted to start fresh while I had the engine out.....

Painless Wiring also makes a harness, but it does not "look" original. If that is not a concern, then I would highly recommend it. This is the route I went and it worked very well.
