I am going to order one of the OER factory tachs for my 69 RS. I can't decided which "red line" I want. Do I go with the 7,000 rpm tach ( various choices,5k,5.5k,6k for red line) or the 8,000 rpm w/6k red line.
Decisions, decisions.
I know I've brought this up before but didn't get much response, one I believe, but what about the accuracy of these tachs.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
Oh, the car will have a 383 but came with a 350 (which I still have). I know this doesn't really matter but may help decide on the red line.
Thanks, Guy

Unless you are into some serious racing I don't see where you need anything more than a 7,000 RPM tach.I use an Autometer tach with the shift light. When I ran the old Chevelle at the drag strip I didn't see any RPM above 6200.Didn't really see the need to twist the engine so high.

Yeah 67, your probably right, especially with a 383 and cast crank. I'll probably go with the 7,000 6k red line tach. I plan on letting the 6AL limit me to about 5800 or 6000 anyway.
