The problem headlight switch does not give me tailights, brake lights or dome light. I get headlights, dash, and front marker lights. So I jumpered across and everything works. So I ordered new switch put it in and it lasted about 10 seconds and now back to square one. What is the problem.

I helped out a guy from this site last year or the year before with an ignition switch problem in his 67. He had replaced his ignition switch with a "new" one from a parts store and it worked a few times and then gave the same symptoms as his old one. I helped him check it out and the new switch went bad. We got another one and it worked fine and I told him if it fails again anytime soon, take it back and get your money back and then get one from a different supplier.
You could just have a bad one like the other guy did with his ignition switch. I've seen it before with electical parts and this may or not be your problem though. Just trying to give you some idea's.

Beware that those old cars develope all sorts of bad connections over time. Bad connections cause resistance and generate heat when current passes through them. Often when you fix one bad connection, another one in the line overheats and can bring about the same symptoms. It's kind of like an old garden hose. You patch a whole and the pressure comes back up to normal causing a nother rupture somewhere else. Just repeat your earlier tests to make sure you haven't uncovered another problem somewhere else.
