I'm building a '69 Pro-touring car, where I'm planning on doing the entire M&H re-wiring route....... the question is...... I'm planning on running Autometer aftermarket guages in the center console, so do I still need to drill a new hole in the firewall, or can I get a new factory wiring harness and use it to run my guages by going through the fuse box???

So in other words, can you take a car with factory guages, change to aftermarket guages and not have to run new wires ????

I bought a pin to pin wiring harness from Ricks first gen made for my new autometer guage pod. Worked real sweet. Very clean and excellent instructions to. I think it was $59.95

Explain to me what you mean by "pin to pin "

I installed a seperate, new style ,six fuse panel on the interior firewall, just behind the console where the guage pod sits. I believe I got it at Auto Zone for $10 bucks.
The hookup went to one of the IGN clips on the fuse panel. I also used M&H to rewire the whole car.
The additional fuse panel is covered up with the firewall insulation with a hole cut out for access. Works just fine.

Pin to Pin means that everything plugs into existing wiring harness and fuse box, also they give you pins for the guages to plug the harness into. Looks stock. There is a main plug under the console so you can pull your console without undoing any wiring.
