I recently acquired a relatively new HEI distributor from a freind and it was in great shape, but I took the module and advance out and cleaned it up a bit. When re-installing the HEI module is it a thermal grease under it or is it just di-electric grease like you would use on your spark plug ends? The guy at napa said it was for corrosion and dielectric was fine, but I know its for heat. What is it and do you have a part number?
Thanks

heat sinc compound. Any electronics supply wiil carry heat sinc compound. Primarily used to conduct heat from power transistors, SCR, and FET's to large aluminum air cooled blocks to eliminated overheating of these components.

Thanks, actually I just checked a Chiltons manual (don't know why I didn't look it here first?) and it said dielectric grease as well. So I gave an even coat and called it good. Thanks again.
