im still using my intank TPS hipo fuel pump it puts out about 45 psi wide open and im stepping down to 6# with a mallory billit 4 port regulator. how can i cut down the juice to the pump so its not running so hard. between the pump an the fans my alternator is working pretty hard an its a 80 amp.

Nearly all "motors" (electrical as opposed to engines) ... only use as much energy (power = volts * amps) as they need. When forced to work harder, they require more power.

Your closed fuel system has certain constraints like tubing size, regulator setting and etc. That establishes the work that must be done. You can increase your tubing size and reduce the work (compare to blowing through a soda straw or garden hose).

The easest thing you can do is get an alternator sized to handle your load. With electric fans, fuel pump and regular operating ... I went with a Powermaster 140 amp unit. It runs all my equipment at idle and still produces enough to read 13.5 volts!
