hey guys,
i just installed my black magic fan part number 150, the problem im having is that damn sensor probe doesnt work worth a **** i believe. for the heat to have to travel all the way thru that long line of extra line they give you that cannot be modified itd take my engine to be 467* farenheit!! anyone running this fan have any tips, or ideas on what i can do to get the damn thing to operate id greatly appreciate it. we have checked all the wiring and it is going to its correct place and has power when needed, we did a manual switch just to make sure the fan works and it works fine, i just want it to operate with the temperature sending unit.

thanks

rick

That's a capillary tube - it doesn't transfer any heat; when the sensing bulb at the end heats up, it expands the gas inside the sealed tube and the increased pressure at the other end triggers the relay, activating the fan motor. If there's a kink or pinched area anywhere in the tube, it won't work.

You should be able to buy a thermostatic fan switch to mount in the intake or head that you can wire to the a/c relay built into the fan. Flex-a-lite didn't have a wiring diagram on their website so I can't be more helpful.
