Anyone know where or how the instument panel is grouned on a 86 Iroc,305 tune-port.

Don't hold me to this because I'm not sure, but I think most of the wiring is grounded on the rear of the driver side head. I will go look at my car and see if I can't tell without tearing it apart.

The main ground is just left of the steering wheel,on the metal frame of the dash.Also on the rear of the pass side cyl head,on a V-8.The ground on the metal dash frame,is a black wire.The screw head points toward the steering column.
