I just purchased a dealer installed over the counter 8000 rpm dash tach. I'm looking for a copy of the original wiring diagram. Anyone have one they could send me.. I would appreciate it.

Are you replacing an existing tach?

If you are replacing a fuel gauge, you may find it easier to remove the whole instrument carrier. There is machineing to do behind the fuel gauge and the fuel gauge will obviously need to be moved.

The correct wiring for the tach is in the 67-69 Console Gauge & Headlight Wiring Diagram Manual. I have the manual, but have no way of scaning it here.

Let me clear this up, It's a tach that sit's on "top" of the dash pad. It has a sweeping needle that runs left to right. It was a dealer option that you purchased from a chevy dealer. It's not a tach that mounts into the instrument carrier.

I’ve had one of those tachs laying around for almost 20 years, if some body has a wiring diagram I’ll take one too!

How many wires and what colors are they? Should be four wires - one for the light, one ground, one ignition-switched 12 volts, and one for the coil (-) terminal.

Black should be ground, white should be for the light, orange should be 12V feed, and blue should be for the coil (-).
