I need to know the basic wires to hook up on my 68 Camaro 396 to fire up the engine

12V to the coil or HEI and power to turn the starter.

Thanks with the harness as a whole will i get power to the ignition without having grounds or making a complete circut

If you're running the engine with no wiring harness (I've done this and rigged up the necessary wiring) don't forget you will need a ballast resistor in line with the ignition circuit. Just buy one for a chrysler and hook it up.
