When I first turn on the light, it takes about a half a minute for the headlights to light. What is this all about.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

Don't know for sure but you might want to check your dimmer switch. I have to replace mine because when the light are turned on I get everything but the head lights. Tap the dimmer switch and the hea lights come on. It is doing some other strange things also. It will have a delay but not very long once in while.

Looks like I will be getting another one. Never put the two together, but when I turn the dimmer just a hair the speedo lights dont dim. They just shut off.
Thanks

The wirewound resistor in the white ceramic block on your headlight switch is shot - a new headlight switch will cure the speedo light dimming problem. The delay in the headlights coming on may be related, may not. Replace the headlight switch and see what you've got; a delay in the headlights coming on is a new one to me - something is having to heat up before it makes good contact, or bad ground, or ?? There's a circuit breaker built into the headlight switch for the headlights (instead of a fuse in the fuse block) so if you get a short in the headlight circuit you don't lose your headlights - they'll go off and on rapidly as the breaker opens, then cools off and resets - it may have gone south.
