I was looking through my 68 assembly manual today trying to find how the power top wires were run from the switch back to the pump by the factory. I couldn't find anything other than the wiring to the switch. My guess was that it simply ran down the left side of the car back to the pump, but I found a picture of the right side power window wiring that shows an extra wire that looks to run back to where the pump sits.

Any help greatly appreciated!

All the verts I had, they ran down the drivers side along side of the taillight harness under the sill wire covers. With the horn relay (power) and firewall 30A breaker being on the drivers side, it would be a little strange if GM ran the feed to the pump on the opposite side of the car. smile.gif

Kevin, we all know that GM did many strange things back then :D

I would have to agree that running it down the right side would be strange, but you never know. Maybe that was just on cars with power windows? Not really asking, just thinking out loud.

Anyway... I'm going to run it down the left side whenever I decide to get started on this project. My wife is really pushing me to get this project started and completed as she hates the power top not working.
