I j ust installed my main dash wiring harness in my 68Conv. Everything went ok except I have 1 yellow wire that I cant seem to find out were it hooks up at. The one on the old harness was cut off. It hangs down close to the cigarette lighter. My car does not have A/c. Any help would be appreciated!!

68softy,

I replaced my harness in my 68 conv. a few months ago. I don't recall the color, but I think I had a spare wire. I think it might be for the glove box light option. Not sure, though.
Does everything function as it should, otherwise?

Do you have the U17 Gauge option? The console mounted gauge cluster uses a yellow wire to turn on the low fuel light in the Dash.

The positive wire to the factory radio is yellow as well...

I too have that extra yellow wire. It is a switched 12v. I used it for an aux. cooling fan switch. It's not the wire for the glove box as this is an orange wire. This yellow wire stops near the center of the dash and since I have not hooked up a radio yet, Geezer is probably right about the radio lead. I have the Tic-Toc-Tach and there is a different wire for this as well (orange if I remember correct).

I have a yellow wire going to the back of my guage cluster in-dash. It is for low fuel light indicator.
