The weather is going to turn cold and salty soon, so it's getting time to start thinking about some winter projects. I don't know too much about them, but has anybody ever thought about using a Line Loc or something like it as an anti theft device? I don't think it would be to hard to do as long as the unit didn't overheat. I'm thinking that it could be hooked up to a small cycle battery. Maybe? Kevin

Line locks DO need replaced every once in a while and they are electrically engaged. At least all mine have been. All the ones I have installed, I have put in an arming switch/light as well as an Engage button.

Would all that constant pressure be good for the brake system? I'm not so sure...

I am thinking of buying one of these for $229 and bolting it onto the starter

Basically it requires you to engage the ignition system with a transponder before starting, else it won't let any power get to that starter. You can't bypass it either, the only ways to steal the car is to flatbed it or drop the starter and wire up another one!

Just remove a coil wire or better yet the rotor from inside the cap. Theives are really good and if they want it, they'll get it. But how many carry a rotor?

A buddy had his car stollen a while ago.(not a Camaro) He had an ignition disableing device. Something like the type I have. We think bad guys did the job just with a flatbed. One minute it was there the next it wasn't. I was thinking about something that locks the wheels. Can a car be hotwired past a neutral safty switch? The wife say's I'm a little paranoid, I say I'm a lot cautious. Thanks Kevin
