Ok, here's a hard one. Mine is a stock 327 M3 on the floor with a console. Somewhere along the line the backup light switch became disconnected, was removed or fell off. Anybody got any idea where it attaches? Is it a push switch activated by shifting it into reverse? Also, any sources known for buying one for a M3 will be appreciated.

All stock 67 RS M3 - front disc brakes/rear drums.

That’s not that hard, I had a similar situation on a 4 speed, no reverse lights. I picked up a Hurst reverse light switch kit at a local speed shop and wired it up. Basically it’s a switch that is activated by the shift linkage when you put the trany in reverse. The kit has the switch and a bracket and some limited hardware with it.
Hope this helps.

not sure about your m3 but on my 67 rs( came with a 4 spd) the back-up light plug comes out of the firewall on the engine side-right behind the driverside head. it is a round plug with two green wires. maybe you can trace it back from there, good luck

Ouch - found one $59.00 at http://www.lectriclimited.com/main%20body.htm - gonna check out a local speed shop and see what they have.

Thanks for the help guys.

I just puchased a Hurst backup light switch off of eBay for $15. It came with the switch and the bracket, but no wiring. Most of the speed shops offer them for $25+.
