Hi, I've just boughten a '79 camaro berlineta which was converted from a six to a 355 last year. It has a 3spd manual (I have no idea from what!) and a 2.56 posi trac rear, all with less then 5,000 miles on it. (I paid 1,900 for the car the last owner spent 10k on it!) (don't ask) hehe anyways. The tranny and rear just well.. They suck! I was wondering if a 5spd from a 3rd gen could fit in there? and also would I need to change the clutch or anything? i'm not very mechanical so forgive me if I sound dumb, and also after converting from a 3spd to a 4 or 5spd, I was wanting to know, since the rear end is brand new could I pop out the 2.56 posi and put a 3.73 in there without changing anything but the gear itself inside the pumpkin?
