i have a 67 that I rewired with a painless harness. As shown in the painless book I hook wire #914 (should be white according to docs, but really is brown) to the alternator regulator exciter. I then hook an 8ga wire from the output lug to the starter which in turn goes to the battery.the alternator is a cs130 with a for prong connector.the problem is that the alternator is humming with the engine off and it drains the battery.i have read some posts on this site about putting resistance in the line which i have done(cause i'm not running an idiot light).do u think its draing my battery cause i don't have any kind of juction block from the alternator to the starter?what else could it be?any help would be appreciated.
ps sorry for the long post.........
