I was out driving the other day and noticed a smell when I was making a turn. When I was waiting to turn again I notice smoke pouring out from under the dash. I pulled over and shut everything off. I noticed one of the wires that Connects to the Steering Column Harness had melted all the way up and inside the bundle of wires behind the speedometer.
I know this harness has something to do with my blinkers and I think the rear taillights.
OK, I'll get to the point now. Can someone tell me where this harness go's once it gets inside the main harness behind the speedometer and what it is called, so I can order it. I don't want to tear into it untill I get a new one. 67 camaro coupe.

If I where you I'd tear it down now so you can see exactly what problems you are facing. Behind the instrument cluster there is a large junction box pushed into the printed circuit for speedo etc. plus wires to directional switch, hazard warning switch & high beam reminder light. I suggest having a look before ordering anything because it may be possible to replace just a single wire or two but your post suggests possibly a problem elsewhere because it's usual to blow a fuse in an incident like yours, maybe you have +&- contacting somewhere, it's really hard to diagnose without getting in there & having a look at the damage.
If you post what color the wire is or was or if you think it would help I could email you a copy of wiring diagram.

T.P. is correct. First assess the damage. Wires, when shorted, burn away from the shorted area. The greatest damage should be closest to the short. What color wire burnt? That might give a clue to what happened and on what circuit. It's unusual that turn signal harness wires actually burn. May want to check out the fuse size once you figure out which circuit burnt.

The color of the wire was a light blue and 2nd from the end of harness. I am not using any of the original wiring for the circuit bourd on speedometer or fuel guage. I put a 5" autometer speedometer and tach in place of the original and made my own wiring. Maybe the original plug did ground out on something. I'll have to check. Don't have a schematic. Haven't had a 67 Camaro in years. The light blue wire is the left side front turn signal wire and the left turn signal dash light. It does not go to the rear lights.
The light blue wire goes from the turn signal connector, up the column, and ends at the turn signal switch.
The light blue wire also goes from the turn signal connector, through the dash harness, and ends at the inside bulkhead connector.
At the inside bulkhead connector there is another light blue wire that connects to this. This wire goes from the bulkhead connector to the left turn signal light in the dash.
The inside bulkhead connector is plugged into the forward lamp harness under the hood. From the outside bulkhead connector the light blue wire goes to left turn signal lamp.

Check your turn signal fuse. Did someone slip a larger 30 amp fuse in there?

Look carefully at the burnt wire. See if you can see where the burn started from. If the wires on the front left signal lamp or the left dash lamp are not burnt, the problem didn't start there. You will need to replace the wire in the dash harness. When you open up the harness see if the burn get greater as you get closer to the inside bulkhead connector. I can't tell anything from here but usually the bulkhead connector wiring doesn't short out. However, that may have been what happened. After the problem is found, the dash harness fixed, I'd replace the turn signal switch.
Just some thoughts.
