I'm putting my car back together with a new starter and forgot which wire is which. I've got the battery cable and 2 smaller wires, one larger(about 10-12ga) and one smaller (12-14ga). Both are pretty dirty making it hard to tell what color they where. Which one is the power from the ignition switch (the one I need to hook up) and which one is the one that is suppose to return the full voltage to the coil during cranking? My new starter only has the one small post. If I had the car togther I could test it quickly and find out, but I don't and both wires need new ends (I don't want to waste a good end on the coil wire since I won't be using it).

The large 12-10 ga. wire is the solenoid wire.
