View Full Version : Console Wiring

I am converting to a 1968 console shifter in my 1967 camaro that originally has a column shifter. I have the console bolted in and I purchased the wire harness for the console, but since this didn't originally come with a console I am not sure how to wire this in to my existing wiring. I know I could just extend my existing reverse light and neutral switch wires, but I would like to use the connector on the new wiring harness so that I can get the full use of the harness (ashtray lighting, shifter lense lighting, etc...)

Any info is appreciated

I've got the wiring diagrams - I can e-mail them if you like. I know you will need an extension harness - it connects your console to the underdash harness. It is available from any of the major resto companies.

That would be great 68BB427! My email address is kmenke@omw.org

I got everything done on this conversion except for this wiring. You have any idea on the cost of this extension harness? Just would like to get a ballpark figure. Can't wait to get it back on the road.

Thanks for your help http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif

Do you know how rare a column shifted camaro is?

I am not sure of the exact number but I didn't think it was rare. I am keeping all the original parts for the column shifter so I can always put it back. Just a couple of extra holes in the floor hump.

Thanks for the thought though.
