: Battery dead - autometer fuel guage?

I have just finished installing the autometer gauge pod. I have been disconnecting the battery after every session for safety since the instrument cluster is out. A few days ago I forgot to disconnect it. Now the battery is dead. It was a decent battery, never gave me any troubles. I am trying to figure out what drained it. One thing that comes to mind is instead of accessory power I hooked up the fuel gauge to full time power, so it always reads the gas level. I don't know why? Anyway, could that have drained the battery in a few days? I think everything else is on accessory and I am 99% sure that wasn't left on. By the way, any recommendations on a fairly stock looking battery that performs like today's? Thx in advance.

Yep...that did it!

ACDelco still makes a line of fairly stock looking batteries that are pretty good. Will look similar to the original but not exactly.

They also make "original" tops/cover for common battery choices too.

Thanks guys. I didn't think that little guage would do it. Sort of glad to hear it is my problem. It is easy to fix.
I will look into the ACDelco batteries. It doesn't need to be totally stock looking, but I hate to see the big, colourful, stickers in a "stock" engine compartment. As long as it is black, flat, and low key.
Anyone have a part number from a recent purchase?
