What is involved with installing a factory tach in a 69 standard dash? Is there a circuit board panel that has to be changed?
Or are there plug-ins that can make them work?
I have a Mallory Hyfire ignition, Procoil and Unilite distributor. Is this compatible?
I've seen the repo tachs and center fuel gauges in catalogs. Has anyone had experience with them?
Thanks
Joe

Joe....
I may be wrong...but there is no printed board on a '69. I believe you're gonna need a new dash wiring harness for a tach.

Thanks, Steve. I didn't see a printed board under there, but it's hard to see (I'm old!)
New wiring harness...Maybe I'll think about that for a while. The Autometer tach and center mounted gauges don't look THAT bad!
Thanks

I think you can add the wires required to hook up the tach without a new harness. You will need to do something for a fuel gage. You will also need to cut out the rear of the instrument panel to fit the tach thru the plastic.

i just replaced my dash with a used one(my other one was cracked).the used one didn't have a tach and i have a console for the gas gauge. if you look on the back side(where the tach goes) there is an outline of the area you need to cut out, also the three holes are outlined that need to be drilled. take your time and make sure your tach is oriented level. there is enough plastic that you can grind away if you don't get the tach straight. good luck it wasn't that hard. scott
