Hi all,

I have two wires left hanging from under the dash that I am trying to ID. One is yellow with a push on rectangular plug and the other is orange with a round cylinder like plug that has a plastic groove pattern on it. I think the yellow may be radio power. The orange wire is coming out of the harness around the center dash area. I have tried looking up the color on a wiring diagram and it could be related to the heater. I have looked at my heater and blower electrical connections but do not see where a plug like this would go. Anyone have any ideas where these could go. If I can figure out these two I am almost done with wiring.

Thanks
Ray

What year?

Orange may be cigarette lighter, if its a black rubber connector with a 90 degree bend in it.

Early cars have two orange heater leads. One to the fuse box and one to the resistor, a few to the headlight switch and that one 14 guage to the cig lighter. Are the wires near each other? There is also a yellow lead to the heater controls switch.

They come from different parts of the harness, the yellow comes from the harness closer to the instrument cluster and the orange come out from the harness right above the radio. The orange is not at a 90, just a black plastic round cylinder like connector approx 1/4 in in diameter. These wires seem separate form any multi connector plug. in other words, they appear as if the are supposed to be a seperate wire going somewhere to their own individual plug.

Thanks

Hey MarkC,

I have been looking at the rest of the wires that I thought I had connected to the right place, I do have an orange wire with a 90 on it but I had it marked for the clock b+, I had another orange wire with a round connector that pushes straight on that I thought went to the lighter, Maybe I have things reversed.

Yellow sounds like power to the radio to me??

Orange with round connector should be cig lighter, yellow should be radio positive wire.

Is orange with a kind of 90 degree connector the clock power connector? Does the tach get it's power through main multi connector?

Thanks
