My 68 Camaro died on me when I went to stop and pushed the clutch in and that was it. It took about a minute to start back up and ran fine. It dies have the HEI distributor athat I will be upgrading to MSD. Any other things I should check out?

I wouldn't rule out "vapor lock" . Was it a hot day?...or was you engine running a little hot ? Did you buy gas from a place you don't usually go to??? If you had points, I would also suggest checking the condensor, but in you case...that couldn't be the case ... anyway, has it happened repeatedly? SInce you mentioned the clutch, are you speculating that the clutch did not fully disengage the transmission??? ANyway, these are just some thoughts...
