: Front RS turn sig lamps
stevo camaro May 10th, 00, 05:45 PM Baby68rs question about "blinkers" reminded me of a burning question I've had about mine. Is it normal for front parking/turn signal lamps to go out when headlights are turned on. My parking lights come on normally, but when I pull light switch all the way out for headlights, they go out. My turn signals work either way. Maybe this is normal for RS, I don't know. Anybody?

ON THE HARNESS FOR YOUR HEADLIGHTS THERE IS A SEPARATE GROUND WIRE. MAKE SURE ITS GROUNDED PROPERLY. THE FRONT MARKER LIGHT SHOULD STAY IN WHEN THE HEADLIGHT ARE TURNED ON.
Rob.Canada May 12th, 00, 04:34 AM You have an older Headlight switch, probaly a switch from a 64 /65 chev.
As they are called PARK lights they are to be used only for parking, hence they turn off when the head lights are ON.
Chris Edwards May 12th, 00, 04:46 AM CJ , your thinking of a standard Coupe,
on a R/S
YES IT IS NORMAL.
the parking lights go out as soon as the main lights are turned on , they come back on when the main headlights are turned off (if you only pushed the knob in 1 notch to have the P lights on again, )
and also remember that R/S cars will open the light doors with the key off, but require the key in the "on" position to close the doors.

Hey Chris- on my 68 RS the park lamps stay on even when the headlights are on.
sixtsevnssrs May 12th, 00, 06:29 AM Different switch for 68 than 67 RS. My 67 the Parking lights are on only when I am turning or if the swith is pulled to the first notch.

Chris Edwards May 15th, 00, 02:46 AM is that actually in the headlight switch itself, and if so are they similar in shape, just not circutry? , man that would be somthing to look for, to make sure they send you the correct switch. (if you needed to order one)
Learn somthing new every day.

Lonnie67 May 15th, 00, 10:48 AM On both of my 67's with standard grill, the park lamps go out when the headlights are on. I think it is in the switch itself.
