This car had no wiring or light bulbs in it when I got it. I am rewiring the whole car and I have gotten to the tail light section. Do the tail lights and turn signals use single or double filament bulbs and which bulbs as far as inner or outer are the brake lights and which are the turn signals? Thanks for any replies.

To the best of my knowledge the outer lights were two filament 1157 sockets that were tail lights and brake/turn signals. The turn signal switch cancels the brake light on the side that's blinking. The inner two were single filament 67 sockets used just as tail lights. If you're not too concerned about originality you can put 1157 sockets in all four so you have two brake/turn signals on each side. Just make sure you use a turn signal flasher compatable with three lamps. You could also run a wire directly from the brake light switch to the center two sockets and use them just for brake and tail lights with the outer two used for tail lights and turn signals.

on mine, all four taillights are double filiment bulbs with two on each side blinking and all four come on for brakes. I had to change three of the bulb sockets and they all are two wire sockets that ground to the body.

i did put all the same sockets on the four, but i'm having problems with the drivers side lights, seems when i brake and put the turn signal, the brake light cancels out and goes back to the normal running light. can this have anything to do with the fasher?
