I've been trying to find a source for replacement connectors and found http://www.waytekwire.com which offers most of what I think I would need. They even have the late model style weatherproof metri-pack connectors. The hitch is that there is a minimum of 100ea of every part you want to buy!

Does anyone know of a source for the DIY'er that only needs a few of this and that?

Bret, I was frustrated as well when working on my wiring. No one source seemed to have the right guage wire in the color I wanted. Connectors were from another company and often had to jerry rig alot. Wish Packard would get a resto site for old car wire and plugs. I found this that Jeff in Hawaii sent me, has most of the type of connectors we find under the dash. Wish we could just order A or B or C and be done with it.

C connector looks just like an alternator connector, carried at every auto store.
As for the other connectors, my local family owned Auto Part store has a huge catalog he whips out that has all that stuff, about $2 a connector, you can buy just one and he can get it usually the same or next day.

I HAD one of their catalogs and now I cannot find it! It's one of those must-have items if you are a fastener and electrical conector junkie like me.

http://www.auveco.com/

There is a section 1/2-way down the page where you can call or email them to find a local distributor.

Carl I had that site as well, and local parts houses carry their stuff but they didnt have the console connector that I needed. I ended up bypassing a bad pin socket and going over the connector with a combo male / female insulated connection. Otherwise they did have alot of those connectors but no local dealer sold just one or two. Its still good to keep these suppliers of record for others here.
I also have catalog from another elec. parts supplier.

Bob, thanks for the link!! They do have a minimum order requirement, but it is $25 rather than a minimum number of pieces. I have requested their catalog and hope to have it soon. Since I don't know the proper terms of what I'm looking for navigating the site is a little difficult for me.

click,

Not surprising. You may want to contact M&H and find out if they will sell you just the plug body. It might be a bit pricy but still less expensive than the whole harness.

I'm still looking for a nice crimper that can do a factory quality crimp on the firewall plug spades and/or other crimp-on ends.

I knew there was a reason why I have boxes of old harnesses graemlins/thumbsup.gif I just open up some boxes, find the right connector with the right color/gauge wire and solder it on.

But I wish I did have the crimper that Carl is talking about, that would make life a lot easier. :D
