: Back-up Lights

This is a question about our '84 Suburban, not the '68. I have good bulbs, good fuse (turn signals on same circuit/they work fine) in the box but no power in the line (no light on the continuity tester even directly out of the fuse box).

However, when going from reverse back to park while checking, there is a short (1/4 second) burst of light in the back-up bulb.

I'm thinnking there may be a problem inside the column. Any thoughts?

There should be a switch at the base of the column under the dash for the reverse lights and neutral safety. It's either bad or out of adjustment. Put your foot on the brake, put it in neutral and see if it will start in neutral. If it does replace the switch. If it doesn't adjust the switch until you get lights in R and it starts in N.

You're welcome. Finally closure. So many times I post replys and never hear anything afterwards. We like to hear if we helped or not. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
