I own a 67 Camaro. I have a set of wires(two) coming out of my firewall. They are not connected to anything on the engine side. They go thru the firewall above the accelerator and looking from the drivers seat, its to the right of the steering column. It comes out from the firewall (inside) in two green wires and into a connector, then comes out as a green wire and a red. And they disappear into a wrapped harnessed bunch of wires, going to who knows where. Does anybody know what these hook into?? Is it my back up lights?? I looked in a camaro catalog and the back up light harness they have looks like the one I'm explaining. Or is it a temp sensor or oil pressure wire? Any help would be most appreciated.

If your car is a standard shift then I would agree that they will be the back up lights,
Do the back up lights on your car work?
Check to see if you have voltage at one of the wires, test the other to see if it has continuity to ground
If bulbs are in the sockets, try jump connecting the wires and see if the lights work.
The worst that could happen is a fuse would blow, this would help narrow down the circuit.
Temp sensor wire is a single green wire, runs from the left fender to the engine, Oil sender wire is light beige wire.

Thanks for the info, the reverse lights never worked in the 20 years I've owned the car. I'll try your suggestion. Again thanks
