I believe you need a filter for the power line to the amp. The amp is as sensitive as the receiver to static.

Rick is right you also need a noise filter in the power wire to the amp, also consider moving the power wire for the to another location besides the battery (if that is were you are connected at, most are, and the MSD should be contected to the battery for power).
You may also be getting EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference) from the plug and coil wires which will interfer with the signal to the speakers causing a buzzing noise.

Noise feed back is caused by a bad ground.

I had the same prob. with my amp. I ran the ground wire all the way to the ground on the alt. bracket. Music is crystal clear now

Here's a case of overkill. I soldiered the ground wire for the amp to the package tray sheet metal. The amp is mounted to the package tray so it can't be seen. No noise.

Sometimes it could be the amp. I had a problem like this with a pyramid amp. It was cheap and it sounded like it. After that I went to Rockford Fosgate and no more problems.

The assembly manual has a page (or more) showing lots of ground straps to aid in noise suppression for the radio. The two that I did: run a ground strap from the firewall to the valve cover bolt (intake manifold side) on both heads.

every amp will produce noise from the radio, it is indeed the electro magnetic picup in your distribtor that does this, The only cure for it is to do like JoeKool Said above, with running the ground from the amp to the alternator ground, or bracket. That should do the trick, also you can buy amp noise supressors at your local Car toons store made spicificly for this problem, although if you dont have the ground hooked up right, your just wasting your money on the supressor, cause the supressor is really only made to take out the least bit of noice your amp produces anyway. Like I said all amps will produce noise, the question is, can the person install everything the right way!.
