The wiring harness on my 67 has been removed and aftermarket fuse box put in. From what I underside the stoplight and turn signal share the same circuit and the taillights the other. Wiring code is yellow and brown wire on driver side and dark green and brown on the other. The brown wires are shared on both sides and is the taillight circuit, the yellow and green turn signals. I figured out the flaming river stainless Steel column wiring purple power and yellow green turn. I put a flasher on each one and it works fine, I am trying to wire in the brake lights with from the brake switch I not sure how to wire it in without affecting the flashers. Sorry for the brain teaser but I am at a loss I ended up wiring the backup as the turn signals as a last ditch effort to make cruise night. Anybody out there understand this circuit
Well enough to explain it to me in layman’s terms.

Yellow and green are the outputs to the rear lights for both the turn signal and brake from the turn signal switch.
Brown, on the rear bulbs is the running light wire and doesn't have anything to do with the turn signal switch.
The turn signal switch has two separate inputs to it.
A, Wire from the brake pedal switch. I believe this is white.
B, Wire from the turn signal can. I believe this is purple.
The turn signal switch selects if the rear light is either in brake mode or turn signal mode.
Just guessing but it sounds like you are close but haven't connected the inputs up right.

Got it John thanks for the help. The trick is the white wire on the column to the stop lights.
One flasher to the purple wire suppling the yellow and green. Lost the fuel gage along the way still haven't figured that on out on the cluster wiring. graemlins/thumbsup.gif
