Hi, my 67 camaro has a problem where it will not stop cranking when I turn off the key, and even when I take the key out. I have already changed the starter solenoid, but still this problem occurs. I am pretty sure only the starter is getting juice when the key is off. Any suggestions will be very helpful.
Thanks,
Vinny

If the engine starts cranking as soon as you connect the battery I would check the connections on the solenoid. Make sure the battery cable isn't touching the start terminal which is the terminal closest to the engine. Also make sure the wire on the start terminal is the correct one. 10 gauge purple if original. If it only keeps cranking after you turn the key to the start position make sure you have enough clearance between the starter gear and the flywheel. Not enough clearance and the starter will jam staying engaged with the flywheel. There are starter shims available to correct this.

And if that doesn't work you may want to check out your ignition switch.
