My 69 Camaro, 230 6 cyl, has a Torque Drive transmission. I've never heard of it before, and none of my contacts know anything other than "you mean PowerGlide", which of course is wrong.

Came out in early 65,,mostly 6 cly cars. I got to drive a 66 or 67 nova and it was a slush box. Didnt last long, powerglide and 350 turbo made them go away. If I recall correctly they were MB1?

Torque-Drive (MB1) was a gutted Powerglide - was a $60.00 option; you shift it yourself back and forth between "Lo" and "Hi". graemlins/thumbsup.gif

A cheap Lenco? Or a P/Glide with a manual valve body?
