I am getting ready to order the complete Hideaway headlight/grill kit from Classic Industries. The final step in getting my 1967 RS/SS 350 back to its original state. Am I looking forward to a nightmare, or will it be pretty straight forward in installing this setup??
Thanks for any input.

Never done this myself but after looking at my car make sure any holes you drill are correctly placed especially for the headlight covers so they don't rub the grill.

Is your car an original RS car? If so it will not be all that bad. If you are converting, I think it will be much more difficult.

It's an original RS/SS 350 car. Glad to hear it may not be that bad.

Ted, the factory assembly manual will help alot. I used it alot during my whole restoration. Erik

I think it should be a reasonable project since the car was oringinally RS. I've worked on my headlight system extensively and it looks to be a relatively isolated system that should drop in. Hopefully the dash wiring isn't disturbed too much.

I installed a complete kit from Rick's into my 67RS a couple of months ago. Overall it is straight forward. The factory assembly manual is a huge help. The only trouble I had was with the limit switches that mounted to the radiator support. The foam padding that was installed on the brackets to act as a bumper for when the door opened was too firm. The doors would open and contact the limit switches and the motors would turn off like they were supposed to. Once the motors turned off, the foam would push the doors off of the limit switch causing the motors to operate again. This was easily fixed by replacing the supplied bumpers with a softer foam.
