Thanks to another post I have found an online supplier for automotive electrical components. My next question is if anyone can confirm that these are acceptable replacements for the factory parts? The resto places want what seems to be a little too much money for a fairly simple part.

As far as electrical components go those will do fine. I'm not a factory resto guy so I would use them. Note that the relay can handle 40 Amps continuously. Now if we could just find connectors for those relays. I'm sure they exist. Crimp-ons will work fine, but I sure would like to fine a good socket kit.

Beware that there are times when a circuit breaker isn't appropriate. For example, you wouldn't want one on your stereo. If something causes a short, you want the circuit to open and stay open. High current loads such as cooling fans and headlights are fine for circuit breakers. The wiring is typically heavy enough for the load - it takes a second or two for the breaker to open. A light guage circuit might over-heat while the breaker clicks on and off. Electronic componenets (such as the stereo) can fry if subjected to a short circuit for more than a few milliseconds.

Dave, thids company carries the relay socket as well. You can either buy a pigtail or make your own harness. Check the link:

And I'm with you. I don't care if it looks factory, I just want it to function properly.

PS. They also carry various colors of wire and offer the make it striped if more than their ten standard colors are needed. :D

The circuit breaker looks very similar and should work great. Get the 10 Amp version. The relays should also work. However, if you want to save money on relays, I suggest the Four Seasons PN-35767, which looks just like the original, cost about $7 at your local parts dealer and works great.
