This is a problem I'm trying to solve on my kid's 68 Nova (L30, Powerglide). Not a Camaro but close enough for me to muck with.

Problem is the battery is slowly draining down. Looks to be about a 2 to 2.5 amp drain on it. Tried pulling all the fuses, replaced the voltage regulator, disconnected the horn relay, tested/disconnected the alternator, pulled out the aftermarket radio, ruled out the starter. Still discharging.

I put in a battery disconnect in the meantime but I'd really like to fix this. It's driving me crazy (a short drive, ha ha).

Any suggestions?

Try unscrewing the wiring harness at the firewall. That would eliminate everything on the other side of the firewall. Have you tried a different battery ?

I'll try disconnecting the harness to at least narrow it down to one half of the car or the other.

Just bought the car, battery looks new. I pulled the positive terminal off the battery and hooked up an ammeter between the post and the lead to measure the amperage load.

Try disconnecting the positive wire on the alternator. I`ve seen them discharge batteries because the field is entergized.
