I want to install the console gauge package in my 69 SS convertible. When I take the panel off the console will it be obvious to me how to wire the gauge cluster?
thanks

Probably not, unless you have a new instrument panel harness with the console gauge pack harness connector on it - you need about eight circuits to feed the gauge pack, and all you have now is one (for the courtesy light), plus one for the shifter light if you have an automatic.

I put console guages on my 69 and I had to change the console wiring harness. And also the guage cluster harness,I got everything from camaro specialty in New York.

You can get the complete wiring harneses from any of the resto catalogs like classic or ricks and ground up.

If you're not looking for an original reproduction, check out Auto Meter...they make a sweet console gauge panel that holds four 2 3/4" guages that all face toward the driver. It makes it look like the gauges are molded into the console. It fits like it was factory.
