View Full Version : Where is my tach wire? Capn Mar 27th, 02, 12:01 PM Putting aftermarket cruise control in my 2002 Z28 and cannot find the VSS or tach feed wires. I don't even know where the PCM is to start from. tvail69 Mar 27th, 02, 05:28 PM i dont know much bout it but when i helped a buddy install an after market tach w/ shift light on my brothers pickup he ran the tach wire straight to the distributor somewhere up in there jrt67ss350 Mar 28th, 02, 01:12 PM Can't really help you, but the PCM is located in the engine compartment wedged between the front edge of the windshield and the inner wheelhouse on the passenger's side of the car. Should be a BUNCH of wires coming out of it. ------------------ Justin Traunero justin.traunero@furman.edu -1967 Camaro SS350 clone - 350/TH-350 with shift kit, CompCams XE268H, Dynomax Jet-Hot headers, Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust, Vintage Air -2002 Impala LS - Medium Bronzemist Metallic, every option except engine block heater Click here to see my Camaro and my parents' 2002 Impala LS. Milan Mar 29th, 02, 07:07 AM Capn you had better be damn good and sure of yourself before you go messin with a pcm or an LS1 dis ignition system. It only takes a Nanosecond to blow out a $1000.00 processor!!! Just a word of caution not a Dis. Milan Milan Mar 29th, 02, 07:09 AM the vss is in the instrument cluster, there is no TACH wire cuz there is no distributor. Capn Apr 1st, 02, 04:53 AM A very helpful person directed me to LS1.com and there under FAQ was the pinout for PCM's of various years. It showed me exactly which pin and which color for both the VSS and TACH wire. Lots of good info there, you should check it out. The cruise control works great by the way. Thanks. |
