Wiper problems. The wipers will work when I push the knob in. But they will not stay on when I turn the knob, like they should.
What do you think the problem is? Bad switch all together? Grounding of the switch? Could it be the actual wiper motor?
This all just happened all of a sudden.

1st make sure the switch is mounted tight to the dash since the switch housing provides the ground for the circut and grounds to the metal dash.
If that's not it, disconnect the plug from the switch. Take a jumper wire and go from the light blue wire to ground (ign key on), then the same for the dark blue wire. The motor should run as each of those are grounded. One is hi speed and the other is low speed. I can't remember which is which and am too lazy to look through the book right now tongue.gif . Grounding the remaining black wire will energize the wash solenoid.
If grounding the above wires does what is says, the circut and the motor are good and the switch is bad.

I had the same problem with my wiper switch. I never bothered to test the old original switch, just replaced it. When I had them side by side I could tell by turning the shafts that the original was shot. The new one works fine now!

Mark, I had the same problem with mine last month. I fooled with it for a couple of days. I would take the switch out of the dash and hold it very hard against a good ground and it would work fine. Then when I put it back into the dash it wouldn't work except when I pushed it in for the washer.
I ended up taking the switch out. On the back of the switch there are two little tabs that are bent over. I soldered a wire to those two contacts and hooked the wire to a good ground and waalaaa, it worked fine.
Try just taking the switch out, holding a wire to those two little contacts onto a good ground and see if that works.

Thanks for all the advice. I had a feeling it might of ben a ground because I've felt a slight shock when pushing it sometimes, graemlins/clonk.gif . I'll try this stuff out and see what happens.
Thanks
