OK OK!! I know this is stupid, but I've screwed with the kick panel on my '69 for an hour and can't get it off!!
It shouldn't take that long to remove, should it?!?!
What am I doing wrong??
I want to mount speakers there for a stereo install that I'm doing, and it seems like the best spot for them.
Your help is GREATLY appreciated!!
Thanks!

You need to remove the screw that holds the parking brake release and push it aside. You also need to spend more than 1 hour to remove them http://www.camaros.net/forum/wink.gif The factory glued/sealed them in place around the oval opening. If you got them separated (loose) then you need to get real mad and rip them out. There is a flange on the inside edge that will frustrate you enough to throw your tools at the dog. If you can get past that you are home free and now need to take the dog to the vet. Tell the vet that the dog got hit by a car. If you do not have a dog, you can swear at your wife or girlfriend. If you do not have one or more of those, you should not spend so much time in the garage.
Hope this is helpful.

I did the same thing on my 69. After taking out all of the screws and moving everything out of the way(emergency brake, etc) and breaking the seal on whatever adhesive they used to attach/seal them, you just have to keep trying to work them out of there. I stared at it and went to my computer to get some "tips" on removing them, but I couldn't figure out or find any easy way to get them out.
After a long time of messing with them and using several profanities(I had to send the kids in the house so that they wouldn't here me use such bad words and watch me be humiliated by those stupid parts) they just came out! I don't have any explanation on how they came out whether it was they top out first and then the bottom or what......I will say this though...when they decided to come out they came out very easy like there was no trick to it at all, so.....be careful if you are really pulling on them it could turn into a painful knuckle-busting situation.
Also....be careful and don't pull on the narrow strip that runs up the door jamb or it will break.

Stinger, that was hilarious! I am in the process of doing the same thing, but had not dug into it that much yet. I'd be interested in how it turns out, I may post my experience later this weekend too. I don't have a dog, but I do have a wife and kids. It won't be the first time any of them will see getting beat up by my car....

WHAT A PAIN!!!
I just finished taking the kickboards half off. ( I didn't want them right off, in case they wouldn't go back on!!)
You were right stinger! Time and patience got the job done!!
Too bad about my wife though, she's still out "for a drive" http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
Thanks for all your help guys! I really appreciate it!!
